About European Blackjack
European Blackjack has long been one of the most popular casino games available in our online casino thanks to its simplicity and the ability to quickly pick up the rules of the game. Play against the computer in Microgaming’s Blackjack title - a great way for those new players to get to grips with it before taking on one of the live dealers in a live casino version. If you’re learning how to play online Blackjack then this is the perfect version of the game to find out all there is to know about the popular table game.
The aim of the game is to get closer to 21 than the dealer without going over - it’s as simple as that!
How to Play European Blackjack
Bet: The first thing you’ll need to do is decide on how much you would like to bet that you’ll beat the dealer. There are lots of different chips at the bottom of the screen all boasting different stake increments to suit plenty of budgets. If you’re not happy with the default bet, press Clear, pick your preferred chip, and then place it in the play area.
Deal: When you’re ready to play, press Deal. You’ll be given 2 cards and the dealer will lay out one for themself. As you want your hand to beat the dealer’s to 21 you need to decide whether taking another card is likely to put you ahead of the dealer - but be wary of going over 21!
Stand: If you choose Stand, you will not be given any more cards and your current ones will be your final hand - this is a good idea if your 2 cards are close enough to 21 that it’s unlikely the dealer will be any closer.
Hit: If your 2 cards have a low combined value then you might want to ‘Hit’ and take another card. You’ll be given another opportunity to analyse your hand and decide whether or not you would like to take any extra cards.
Bust: If your hand total goes over 21, you go bust and the round will end.
Blackjack: If your hand value equals 21 exactly then this is classed as Blackjack - and you win!
