Place Markers Strategically On The Grid
Wilds and Super Wilds can help you to pick up extra winning lines by removing the need to land that number on the reels. How you place them on the grid changes how useful they are to you.
Some players may suggest only placing them in the corners and/or the centre square on the grid, because this maximises the number of lines a Wild can make, but this isn’t quite correct.
Firstly, if you have four numbers on a line matched already, use the Wild or Super Wild to complete the line, even if it’s not a corner, as doing so lock in your win.
Secondly, the suggestion of picking the corner or centre is because this gives you three possible lines to use the symbol in. However, you can also use a Wild or Super Wild to match three win lines if you place them on any box that can make a diagonal win.
Finally, there is no strategic benefit as to where you place one of these symbols when making a full house. You have the same odds of matching any particular number, so focus on placing Wilds and Super Wilds to make lines.
Adding to this, if a game doesn’t allow diagonal win patterns, then no squares can make three winning lines, so it also doesn’t matter where you place them.
